Hi, I'm Gracie Davis, and I'm a birth doula. I have experienced three unique personal births of my own, and many of clients.
I love helping other women have birth experiences they are happy to remember. Fond memories of a baby's birth day are made possible when women feel like they are involved in each of the decisions that occur leading up to, and on the day of, the labor and birth of their child.
The time before and after birth can be represented by a variety of emotions, with feelings ranging from excitement, uncertainty, doubt, love, expectation, fear, determination, hopefulness and anticipation.
I doula because I want to support couples through this time by providing a sounding board on which they can hear their feelings and concerns echoed back, and help organize their thoughts and plans from an experienced framework.
Similarly, when labor begins I help you process your birth each step of the way as labor progresses and into those first moments with your new little one. In addition to feedback on your labor, I offer physical support for pain relief and position recommendations to facilitate labor progress.
My Christian faith is a very important part of my life, and it is a pleasure whenever I have the opportunity to serve other Christian couples. A verse that inspired me to pursue doula work is:
2 Corinthians 1:3-7
"God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us... For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you..."
My hope is to be a vessel of encouragement, comfort and support for you and your family.
